Sweet Smiles as NALCO Celebrates

NALCO is celebrating by giving all staff a paid day off following it’s recent hat trick award success, including winning the Manukau Westpac Business of the year Supreme Award! Managing Director Ron Holden said,. "Celebrating success is part of our core values and whilst profitability is down we want to recognise the effort our people make. The paid day off seemed the fairest way for all staff to be given something additional from NALCO recognizing that ultimately everyone contributes to our success. To sweeten things further we are also giving staff commemorative chocolates and t-shirts and having a national celebration day on 6 November where staff held BBQ’s and locally organised celebrations at work".

NALCO has it’s main aluminum extrusion manufacturing operation in Te Rapa along with warehouse, paint line and employs 120 staff on site. Hamilton Manager, Ian Bickerton said this is a generous gesture on behalf of NALCO and one that will be warmly welcomed by all staff this Xmas.

NALCO won the hotly contested Cogita Excellence in Innovation & Strategy Award for the exciting work they have done in the development and commercialisation of unique aluminium window and door systems for Bradnams and Nulook.

NALCO also won the EMA Excellence in Manufacturing Award for the development and achievements at Bradnams East Tamaki, one of 5 NALCO owned window fabrication businesses. Bradnams ET has led New Zealand fabricators in the use of NALCO’s patented connection systems to significantly improve on the weathertight integrity of aluminium joinery and also delivers much better residential joinery quality.
