New Innovation Solves Old Problems
Kliptank, a prefabricated tank storage system launched their revolutionary patented clip-together large storage tanks at Fieldays 2010.
Their unique modular design uses standardised clip together components to create tanks of any diameter ranging from 67,000 to 2,500,000 litres. The components can be flat packed and delivered to site in just about any location, eliminating the traditional transport size restraints.
The brainchild of Tauranga inventor and entrepreneur Neil Peterken, Kliptank utilise a combination of existing technologies and components combined into an innovative new design. Managing Director Graham Cave says that Kliptank offers “a simple solution for quick reliable above ground storage, especially for those involving difficult to access locations.
Kliptank’s low cost, intelligent design allows for many uses including the storage of wine, water, molasses or effluent.
Since the company’s inception last year Kliptank has been in full expansion mode hiring three new staff, with an ever growing number of tanks installed across NZ, and fielding international enquiries.
NALCO’s invaluable support throughout the prototype development ensured they were chosen as the partner to deliver the aluminium componentry. NALCO worked closely with Kliptank to design and manufacture the aluminium roof trusses and tank rings an integral element of the Tanks design.
This successful collaboration has helped to streamline the manufacturing process and given the tanks the desired aesthetic.
